Hammersmith Morris Men, London, (UK)
Year founded: 1959
The list below gives the A roads as were in 1922/23, which was when the classification of roads was first published. The information is derived from the list published by the MOT and the Ordnance Survey "MOT" maps. It changed quite considerably in the 20s (as the MOT realised its mistakes). The published list didn't sell very well and was never updated; MOT maps were published each year up to about 1929 showing the changes.
Although some earlier maps from Michelin and Bartholomew were published before this, they were based on earlier drafts of the numbering scheme which were not officially agreed.

The bridge was demolished in the mid 1990's, and replaced with a sttel girder eyesore. We can still be seen on May Day (about 7.15 pm) each year, starting the dancing season by processing across the river and then at a nearby pub. Since the late 1980's, we have danced at festivals and other events all over the UK and, as well, have travelled extensively abroad, including Hong Kong, Turkey, USA and Canada plus a number of European countries.
